My metabolism slowed way down and I noticed that I started to gain weight -- not muscle, but fat! I wasn't
obese, but I could tell that my physique was going from chiseled to chubby at a rate that alarmed me.
I was embarassed and I realized that I needed to make some changes in my life. My Office Chair Had Only One Use --To Make Me Fat.
So I got out my wallet and started purchasing all kinds of fitness products. I bought exercise
machines, workout dvds and even a few of those meal replacement powders. Some products were excellent and
some were subpar. I had everything that I thought I needed to lose weight, but I quickly realized that nothing was working. Why? Because
I simply "forgot" to use them. I Knew I Had To Exercise, But I Lacked The Motivation.I'm addicted to The Biggest Loser television show and I marvel at how well all of the contestants perform. Of course, while I'm marveling, I'm eating my 5th slice of pizza and washing it down with an ice cold beer. But as good as that show is, it doesn't get me off of my couch to actually work out. After watching many episodes, I came upon the realization that the reason these people are so successful at losing weight and gaining muscle is simply because Bob and Jillian are there telling them what to do -- every minute of the day. That is the show's secret. It isn't just starvation and hours of cardio workouts, it's the way they motivate the contestants. So I needed someone or something to kindly tell me to exercise and that's when I came up
with the idea of creating Fitness Popup. After creating this program and using it for around 2 months now,
I reached my goal weight and I feel and look healthier than I ever have before. You can too! Read on... What Is Fitness Popup? It Sounds Evil...Fitness Popup is a tiny application that runs in the task tray or system tray on your computer and reminds you throughout the day to get out of your chair and perform an exercise. And yes, it has the word Popup in its name, but it isn't evil in any respect. It will help you get fit and healthy while you are at work or on your home computer. Here are some key features that you'll love:
If you would like to install Fitness Popup now and start the process of becoming healthy again, read the following section. There are tips and
tricks about using the program a little further down the page that I'm sure you'll want to read. Install Fitness Popup NowInstallation is an easy task. Simply click on the "Install Now" button below. If the installer asks to install Adobe Air, please say yes. Adobe Air is the language I've developed the software in. Without it, Fitness Popup cannot run. To install this application you will need the Adobe Flash Player
When you see the "Would you like to open or save this file?" screen, click on the Open button.
Then, click on the "Install" button.
And finally, click on the Continue button.
Fitness Popup will then be installed on your computer and it should be running as a little
icon in your task tray. I've got it initially set to remind you to do an exercise every 20 to 40 minutes
which is the timeframe I personally enjoy. If you'd like to change that, simply right click
the icon and choose "Options". You can also click on the tiny icon that looks like a gear to access the options. Take The Time To Read These Tips And Tricks!Fitness Popup on Facebook
1) Make a commitment to your fitness. When Fitness Popup shows you an exercise, try and drop what you are doing, get out of your chair and do something -- anything. You don't necessarily have to perform the exact exercise that is showing. If you are on the phone, finish the call and then exercise. Make a commitment to not close the exercise window until you have actually performed an exercise. You can do this! 2) If you are performing an exercise and you feel joint pain, stop. Muscle soreness the next day is normal for some people, but pain could be an indication of a problem. Do an alternative exercise that you enjoy and can perform well. 3) Some of the exercises require or suggest the use of resistance tubes. These are basically
hollow rubber tubes with handles that provide resistance. They are cheap, they lessen your chances for a joint injury and they produce incredible results. If you
don't have any yet, I can personally recommend Bodylastics 4) Don't worry about how many reps (repetitions) of each exercise to do. I've found that I get the best results when I perform an exercise to muscle failure or just prior to muscle failure. For example, when I first wrote this program, I could do 3 pushups. Within 3 weeks I was able to do 65 pushups without stopping and with good form. If I had a set number of repetitions in my head, my body would have most likely just stopped at that number and I wouldn't have increased my level of fitness as much as I have. 5) When you are finished with an exercise, you can close the window or minimize it. Both actions force Fitness Popup back to your system tray. It will then hibernate for a random period of time and remind you to exercise again. 6) Ladies, you will not turn into the Incredible Hulk by doing these exercises. You don't have to worry about that. You will be building a bit of muscle though, which is exactly what you need. Muscle burns calories quickly. The exercises that Fitness Popup recommends will not be intensive cardio workouts, because most people use this program in an office environment and cardio wouldn't be the best choice. However, if you are in a more private setting (like a home office), you can easily substitute an exercise for something more cardio intensive if you wish. 7) Although, the program starts out by picking out a random exercise from the entire database, I'd recommend that you choose one of the body zones to concentrate on each day. When I show up for work, I sit down at my computer and start typing away. When I'm randomly reminded to do an exercise, I click on the body zone I want to work on and the program gives me an appropriate exercise. And then throughout the day, the program will continue to give me exercises for that body part. One day, I'll do legs, the next will be arms, then back and so on. Give your specific body zones a rest of at least 48 hours before working them out again. 8) Drink lots of water. I don't care if you don't like the taste of it -- you need it. Eliminate soda from your drink choices. Seriously. I used to be addicted to 7-up and Coke. Eliminating those choices has turbo blasted my fitness results. 9) Don't be embarassed about performing an exercise in your office environment. If you have to, close your door if you have one. If someone "catches you" exercising, don't fret. I'd be more embarassed that someone noticed that I've been wearing larger and larger clothing sizes. Recommend this program to your office mates and get everyone healthy. It becomes fun -- I promise. 10) If you are frustrated with how often you are being reminded, tell Fitness Popup to slow down!
Right-click on the tiny orange chair icon in your system task bar and choose options (or click on the gear icon on the exercise window). Change
the reminder times to anything you wish. It is initially set to remind you every 20 to 40 minutes, but only because that
is what I feel works best for me. |
